SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 24 –
Carmen Tavarez-Vargas, a
self-described blind women,
sued This Land, Inc. for
having an inaccessible
website. She wanted to buy
lawn care products, the
complaint says.
On March 23, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
John P. Cronan held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
This
is one in a series of ADA
website cases. On March 22
Judge John G. Koeltl asked
about the volume of purported
purchase attempts, and
standing.
Judge Cronan
asked about mediation and made
a referral for it to occur on
or after May 23.
The case is
Tavarez-Vargas v. This Land,
Inc., 21-cv-9868
(Cronan)
