March 30 – Elliott
McGucken sued Newsweek
for using a copyrighted nature
photograph from Instagram
without consent.
On March
30, U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Katherine Polk
Failla held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
McGucken notes
that the photo was copied from
Instagram and then put on
Newsweek's site with ads from
Amazon Prime and the New York
Times.
Judge
Failla said plaintiff's motion
is due May 22, defendant's by
June 21.
