SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Oct 13 – Vanessa Gomez is
charged with depositing
$15,000 knowing it represented
proceeds of an unemployment
insurance benefits fraud
scheme.
On October 13 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Judge Edgardo Ramos held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Ramos
asked what motions the defense
had in mind to file. The
answer was that there might
not be motions. So, Judge
Ramos said, let's set a trial
date.
There were
conflicts, other pending
trials (Judge Ramos had one
for January 24 which just
pleaded out) and sentencing.
So February 14,
2022 was agreed on for the
trial date.
The case is
US v. Gomez, 21-cr-245 (Ramos)
