SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 24 –
A class action lawsuit against
Columbia University for
tuition refunds after
in-person classes were
canceled amid COVID is being
settled.
On March 24, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Jesse M. Furman held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
While the
motions to approve the
settlement and for attorneys'
fees were approved, in the
docket is an anonymous
objection to both.
The
proponents of the settlement
says the objection is invalid
and "largely concerns personal
grievances with Columbia's
School of General Studies."
The objection,
which analogizes the process
to abuses in Honduras and DRC,
is quite something.
The case is In Re
Columbia University Tuition
Refund Action, 20-cv-3208
