SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 31 –
Filipe Chairez was to plead
guilty to drug charges on
March 31.
But there was a
discrepancy on when he had
agreed to the plea deal.
U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John G. Koeltl inquired
into it. City Press covered
it.
The defense
lawyer said he would not get
into attorney client
communications, but that the
guilty plea should be forward.
Judge Koeltl did
not agree - he wants a new
plea deal produced and signed.
The AUSA agreed.
The next proceeding is set for
April 19.
The case is US v.
Chairez, 19-cr-542
(Koeltl)
