SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 21 – The
East Side Club at 227 East
56th Street, which calls
itself a "premier social
relaxation club for gay and
bisexual men," has been sued
by Bronxite John Doe.
On April 14, John
Doe wrote that the defense
attorney "wants to drag all
parties to this action and
this Court into additional
conferencing and additional
submissions is if [he] charges
his clients an hourly
fee."
On April
21, 2021, U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Katherine
Polk Failla held a proceeding,
specifically citing a
paragraph from John Doe's
letter. Inner City Press
covered it.
Discussed
was an audio recording, a copy
of which Judge Failla does
have but wants.
She has barred
further unauthorized
sur-replies.
The case is John
Doe 1 v. East Side Club, LLC
et al., 18-cv-11324
(Failla)
