SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 18 – Rafael Antonio
Garavito-Garcia has applied
for compassionate release from
prison. He is 76 years old.
On May 18,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jed S. Rakoff held an
oral argument. Inner City
Press covered it.
On age being an
issue, Judge Rakoff pointed
out that he is 77 years old,
and still working strong.
But he listened
to the other arguments and
projected that unlike the
Bureau of Prisons he will
timely rule, by the end of
June.
The case is
Garavito-Garcia v. USA,
21-cv-1862 (Rakoff)
