SDNY COURTHOUSE,
April 25 –
Sonia Ruddock was injured on
the escalator at Burlington
Coat Factory at 1925 Turnbull
Avenue in The Bronx. She sued.
On April 25, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge P.
Kevin Castel held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The defense
said they are not convinced
there is any liability. They
said the escalator was not on
or moving, and so the fault
lies with the plaintiff. So,
discovery.
Judge Castel
referred the case to the
SDNY-annexed Mediation Program
for expedited mediation on
June 21 at 10 am.
The case is
Ruddock v. Burlington Stores,
Inc., 22-cv-1551 (Castel)
