SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 21 – A surgical resident
at Montefiore Medical Center,
Ojinika Ikedilo, sued the
Center and three doctors for
discrimination.
On September 21 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Ronnie Abrams held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Judge Abram
on September 30 dismissed many
of the claims. Judge Abrams
said "the Court is sympathetic
to Plaintiff's desire to
complete her surgical
residency, she has not
established that she was
subject to a hostile work
environment and that her
termination from Montefiore
was the result of unlawful
discrimination, retaliation or
failure to accommodate."
Plaintiff's
lawyer asked for an
interlocutory appeal, before
the amended complaint focused
on breach of contract.
But it seems the
stripped down case will go
forward as is. It is Ikedilo
v. Statter et al., 19-cv-9967
