SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 9 – A transportation
company incorporated in
Nevada, with headquarters in
Florida and no business in New
York, has been sued here.
On March 9, U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Gregory H. Woods
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
He was told there
may not be jurisdiction, given
the applicable New York law.
Defendant cites NYBCL 1314(b),
and says the carve out in
NYGOL 5-1402(1) because less
than a million dollars is
involved.
One of the
lawyers accused the other of
"frivolous" arguments.
The case is
Mazzola v. Transportation and
Logistic Systems, Inc.,
20-cv-7582 (Woods)
