SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 17 – Charged
with demanding bribes to join
the United Brotherhood of
Carpenters and Joiners of
America, Salvatore Tagliaferro
and John DeFalco face trial in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York. But when?
On August
17 SDNY Judge Paul A. Crotty
held a proceeding. Inner City
Press covered it.
Judge Crotty
explained to the two men's
retained counsel that when
jury trials resume in the SDNY
in October, the priority will
go to individual defendants
who are in detention.
These
co-defendants are both free on
bond.
Judge Crotty's
courtroom deputy explained
that each judge's list of
upcoming trial is due on
August 21, with a response in
the following week. Another
conference was set for
September 16.
This case is USA
v. Tagliaferro, et al.,
19-cr-472 (Crotty)
