SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 26 – Sportvision Inc. sued
Major League Baseball Advance
Media in 2018, for allegedly
stealing its technology.
Since then, 150
docket entries and two
interested parties: Hawk-Eye
Innovations North America and
TrackMan, Inc.
On
November 25 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Debra C.
Freeman held a four-hour
discovery proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
There was talk about seeking
information from Denmark under
the Hague Convention. There
were questions about how a
pitch is tracked, from hand to
catcher's glove or
bat.
Finally
representing MLB Advanced
Media LP Allyson Julien of
Goldman Ismael in Chicago said
it was up to the plaintiffs to
say what their trade secrets
are, not to poke around in
MLB's documents to find things
and "reverse engineer"
them.
Judge
Freeman, tireless, said she
will now go through the docket
ruling on outstanding motions.
Much of the docket is still
sealed.
The case is
Sportvision, Inc et al v. MLB
Advanced Media L.P.,
18-cv-3025 (Gardephe /
Freeman)
