SDNY COURTHOUSE,
September 1 –
When the guilty plea of Jason
Rhodes was announced by the
SDNY US Attorney's Office,
that Office had still not
provided its exhibits
on OneCoin, regarding
which promotions continue
around the world.
From the
January 9, 2020 announcement of the
guilty plea
of "JASON
RHODES pled
guilty today
before U.S.
District Judge
Sidney H.
Stein to
securities
fraud, wire
fraud,
investment
adviser fraud,
and conspiracy
charges in
connection
with his
participation
in a scheme to
defraud
approximately
25 investors
in Sentinel
Growth Fund
Management,
LLC
(“Sentinel”),
a hedge fund
RHODES
co-founded,
out of
approximately
$19.6 million
by lying to
the investors
and using
investor funds
for his own
personal use
and to make
repayments to
earlier
investors in a
Ponzi-like
manner.
Now
on September
1, 2021, in a
proceeding for
which no
call-in number
was in the
docket (but,
to be fair,
some media did
attend in
person), a 48
month sentence
has been
imposed, amid
tears and
apparently the
use of the
term whackadoodle:
"JASON RHODES,
the
co-founder,
chief
investment
officer, and
chief
compliance
officer for
Sentinel
Growth Fund
Management,
LLC
(“Sentinel”),
was sentenced
today by U.S.
District Judge
Sidney H.
Stein to 48
months in
prison for
securities
fraud, wire
fraud,
investment
adviser fraud
and conspiracy
charges."
Meanwhile in
the OneCoin case,
Mark Scott is
asking
for a new
trial in a still
entirely
sealed motion
which apparently alleged
that DOJ's main cooperating
witness perjured
himself. We aim to
have more on all
this.
