UN GATE, June 6 – Inner City Press has been reporting on serious malfeasance by the French Audrey Azoulay administration at UNESCO in Paris, almost as bad as Antonio Guterres' corruption in and of the UN in New York. Almost - a fish rots from the head.

UNESCO, like the whole UN system under Antonio Guterres is falling apart into abyssal nonsense and corruption. UNESCO staff are feeling the heat of abuse of power every day, and fortunately, some of them are beginning to reveal more unpleasant facts about DG Azoulay and her administration, despite the totalitarian regime's style and methods of persecution at the agency through the servile IOS and HR departments.   

Nevertheless, it is worth reminding the submissive staff working in these two departments that their UN career does not end with the end of the mandate and the departure of the French DG and that in a few months only, they may have to account for all their dishonest behaviors and abusive acts against their colleagues. 

After the false suspense surrounding the rumor about Azoulay's possibility of becoming Prime Minister of France, it is now clear that the entire media campaign was orchestrated by her Cabinet and in particular by Roland Husson, thanks to his relations with certain Parisian journalists who were bought or perhaps bribed. The proof that Azoulay was behind it all lies in the fact that she never issued a denial to the press of this rumor.

 This episode was clearly an attempt to divert the attention of member states from the many scandals that occur every day at the Paris-based UN agency, such as firing people for no reason, appointing French people to key UNESCO posts, spending public money on Audrey Azoulay's tourist visits to Venice, Valparaiso and Cannes and other fancy destinations.

As a result, DG Azoulay's whereabouts are now under even greater scrutiny and some member states are waiting for the right moment to ask the right questions about her accountability. 

Furthermore, Inner City Press has already written several times about the controversial management of the UNESCO security service, and about the accumulating problems generated by the incompetent decisions of its chief, Frenchman Nicolas Hergot (here and here.)

   Instead of doing the job he is paid to do, the former French Police Commissaire Nicolas Hergot became Azoulay’s jack of all trades and spends his time tracking down leaks within the agency instead of ensuring its security and protection.

More to the point, Hergot actually proved to be totally unsuccessful in chasing the inhouse sources that revealed corruption as well as the sexual performance-based promotion affair of Nicolas Kassianides, the Director of Azoulay’s Cabinet, and his mistress now working in the Education sector. Hergot’s hound dog function was thus transferred and conferred to Bernardin Assiene, the docile and obedient African Director of IOS who quickly tamed all the honest investigators in his service in order to please by serving blindly DG Azoulay.  

  Since his appointment by Azoulay, the French Police Commissaire Nicolas Hergot regularly showed disrespect and even disdain to his security colleagues and especially those from non-European nationalities.

For the first time, Inner City Press is here exclusively publishing leaked evidence of his unacceptable behavior by the basic standards of UN officials. Inner City Press has obtained the following document:    

It clearly indicates Hergot's insults to his staff, calling them "morons and jerks."     The accumulation of major professional conduct mistakes made by Nicolas Hergot in the short time since his appointment is appalling by any measure.

Despite the number of obvious violations of security rules, despite the despicable working atmosphere in the security service provoked by his toxic management practices and the established insulting behavior, Director General Audrey Azoulay keeps Hergot in his post. Another perfect example of French solidarity at work in the corrupt UN. 

This is UNESCO today, a gang-style abusive management by the French clique facilitated by the eyes wide shut of accomplices representing European states and Nordic countries to the Agency. We will have more on that. Watch this site.
