In Mali UN Says It Repels Rebels In Kidal As in NY Guterres Has Roughed Up & Banned Critics

By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR PFT NY Post

UN GATE, June 1 – The UN Security Council in the second half of March 2020 under China's presidency did not hold a single publicly-viewable briefing or issuance of Press Elements, on Mali or any other site of a UN Peacekeeping mission.

Then as demonstrators calling for President Keita to resign were teargassed and at least two killed, there was not a word from the Security Council or even for usually robo-tweeting UNSG Antonio Guterres, Big Tony G. Maybe Guterres' silence is because he is cheering on the arrest of journalists, including  Liberté TV journalist Hawa Kamissoko, after he and Stephane Dujarric has Inner City Press roughed up and banned since, video here. Guterres' UN is corrupt.

Meanwhile on June 1, the UN mission says " MINUSMA peacekeepers repelled successfully an attack this morning on the UN camp in Kidal region. The response of the peacekeepers forced the unidentified attackers to flee the camp located in Aguelhok.     The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Mali, El-Ghassim Wane, condemned in the strongest terms the attack, the last of a series of offensives against peacekeepers in the region recently.     El-Ghassim Wane reaffirmed “the determination of MINUSMA to carry out its mandate to support the securing and stabilization of Mali.”  The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General urged "the people of Aguelhok not to give in to the manipulations of those who seek to undermine peace and reconciliation efforts.”     MINUSMA, he reiterated, “will continue the constructive dialogue with the people of Aguelhok to find solutions to their concerns.”

Good. But at the UN in New York, corrupt Guterres rather than listen to critics has them roughed up and banned. And where is the court for the UN, when it kills 10,000 in Haiti with cholera, or, right in New York City, roughs up and bans the Press, with no hearing at all? Guterres is killing the UN.

This as Inner City Press, which reports on Mali and South Sudan for example is excluded by the UN Secretariat from getting promised answers - for example to this question it posed: "what is the UN's response to the massacre" - UN failure.
