UN GATE / SDNY
COURT, Jan 27 – Amid the
outrage - which we share - at
the banning of NPR's Michele
Keleman from the US State
Department plane for its trip
to Europe and Central Asia,
the silence by UN insiders at
Secretary General Antonio
Guterres having roughed
up and banned
investigative Inner City Press
now 573 days and counting is
striking.
How
corrupt is the UN? Well, its
UN Correspondents Association
has a permanent veto-wielding
seat for China, in form of
Xinhua.
But some
of those now bliovating about
press freedom in Washington
did nothing when Guterres' UN
Security targeted Inner City
Press for ouster, at 7 pm from
the General Assembly lobby in
June 2018 then from covering
the UN Budget Committee
meeting on 3 July 2018.
And they've done
nothing since, instead
hobnobbing with Guterres'
spokes- / hatchman Stephane
Dujarric. We'll have more on
this.
In the UN
Guterres has banned Inner City
Press from, this untransparent
travesty: "This is a reminder
that the annual general
membership meeting will take
place on Monday, January 27th
at 3:00 pm in the UNCA
room. The agenda is as
follows: 1) Introduction
of the new 2020 UNCA Executive
Committee 2) Presentation of
UNCA subcommittees and their
upcoming agendas 3)
Presentation of 2019 UNCA and
UNCA Awards financials 4) UNCA
room and membership activities
for 2020 5) Other matters
[What, how to prevent
independent Press from
entering the UN?]
Also, to continue our annual
tradition and to kick of the
new year, UNCA will host an
informal meet and greet
reception following the
general meeting with the
elected 5 non-permanent
members of the UN Security
Council at 5:30 pm in the UNCA
Room. The occasion has
always been to facilitate
interactions between diplomats
and the press corps with the
hopes of building good working
relationships moving
forward. Drinks and food
will be served. I look
forward to seeing you
there. Valeria
Robecco President, United
Nations Correspondents
Association."
Those
celebrated include Niger and
Vietnam. Will it be "off the
record" or will these scribes
bite the hands that feed them?
The food and drink will be
Italian, likely arranged by
Robecco's predecessor
Giampaolo Pioli, a gentleman
journalist who because his
wife is a Turkish pasta
magnate owns many apartments
in Manhattan, renting
them out to the diplomats and
UN officials he ostenisbly
covers, such as Sri Lanka's
alleged war criminal (in the
White Flag Killings case),
Palitha Kohona.
Pioli is still on the board,
along with among others:
Jianguo Ma, Xinhua News Agency
- UNCA Second Vice President
2020, S-313; Ali Barada,
France 24; Asharq Al-Awsat,
S-340B; Philippe Rater, Agence
France-Presse; S-0316."
Yes,
France which supports Paul
Biya the 38 year "president"
of Cameroon
as goes Antonio "Big Tony"
Guterres as Biya kills
civilians in the SW and NW
regions. We'll have more on
this, including this week on
the radio (that's beyond Inner
City Press' daily reporting
from the Federal courts where
UN corruption has been twice
proved, but ignored and joined
in by UNCA).
As of 8:30
pm on January 27, no public
accounting of UNCA's finances
or hypocrisy.
Inner City Press has a right
to enter and cover the UN,
even as it refused and refuses
to pledge allegiance to Big
Tony and his scribes in UNCA,
become the UN Censorship
Alliance. Watch this
site.
