UN GATE, Jan 23 –
The desperate suck-up by
Antonio Guterres to try to get
five more years in the UN
Mansion on Sutton Place,
banning the Press which asks
questions about genocide in
Cameroon, peacekeepers' rapes
and Chinese bribes at the UN
has begun.
Right
after the insurrection attempt
in Washington on January 6,
Guterres opportunistically
announced for a second
term.
And on January
20, rather than one Guterres
issued no fewer than three
separately press releases
praising new announcements
from DC.
Meanwhile,
China is already in support,
as Guterres remains silent in
Xinjiang and his links to the
bribery firm CEFC China
Energy. So, China's foreign
ministry spokesperson Hua
Chunying not surprisingly
tried to lock this corruption
in: "China believes that
Guterres is a suitable
candidate for the next
secretary-general. We are
ready to work with the
international community to
continue to support the work
of the United Nations and
Guterres." And he yours.
Anything to get
support for a second term,
before there is time to
consider Guterres' failures in
his four years, his roughing
up and banning of US-based
independent Press, and the
contradiction of being a
so-called feminist stealing
the UNSG position from
qualified female candidate,
including from the Eastern
European Group whose turn it
is.
Inner City Press
on January 19 and 20 in
writing asked Guterres and his
spokespeople Stephane Dujarric
and Melissa Fleming about his
and the UN's connection to the
criminal complaint filed
against Professor Afrasiabi
using Iran's UN Mission and
the UN Federal Credit Union -
no answer at all.
So will the new
Administration move to dismiss
that complaint?
Or will Gumbo
Diplomacy of Linda
Thomas-Greenfield and Antony
Blinken result, as it should,
in the replacement of Guterres
by a candidate who will end
censorship and mediocrity?
