UN GATE, Dec 26 –
In the United Nations system
from which SG Antonio Guterres
has banned Inner City Press
907 days for asking about his
complicity in the killing of
civilians in Cameroon and
their mass imprisonment by
China in Xinjiang, now UNHCR
in Niger has seemingly put out
a press release demanding that
local media retract a report;
photo here
along with demand that media
be punished under the law.
Now on
December 26 while violating
quarantine (and the
instructions of WHO and the
incoming US administration,
among others) while
vacationing in Lisbon,
Guterres has issues these
platititudes: "On the eve of
the legislative and
presidential elections in
Niger, the Secretary-General
commends the Government and
the people of Niger for their
efforts to ensure the timely
holding of elections despite
significant security and
humanitarian challenges, amid
the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recalling the peaceful conduct
of the 13 December local
elections, he calls on all
national stakeholders to
ensure that the polls are
conducted in an inclusive,
peaceful and safe manner. He
urges the security forces to
make every effort to protect
the civilian population as
they cast their
vote.
The Secretary-General
reiterates the commitment of
the United Nations to
accompany the country’s
efforts to promote democracy
and sustainable
development.
Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman
for the
Secretary-General
New York, 26 December 2020."
Liars.
The head
of the UN Antonio Guterres had
Inner City Press physically
roughed up and banned, with no
due process and no appeal. So
his UN system has not basis to
complain about anything - when
you take public money but
refuse to answer questions,
you are corrupt. The UN today
fails everywhere, even as it
pretends to speak to protect
people. Dump Guterres or UN fuera.
Under
Guterres, the UN is a colonial
organiastion. On June 1 French
Ambassador Nicolas de Riviere
(and now UNSC outgoing and
Guterres super spreader trip
host German Ambassador
Christoph Heusgen, telling all
to wear mask which his new
Deputy does not) held a
censored online press
conference about the coming
month(s) in the Security
Council.
Now on
December 25, with Guterres and
France (and FP's Matjila
event) still silent on its
ally Cameroon killing
journalist Sam Wazizi (French
UN spokesperson Stephane
Dujarric de la Riviere won't
even take the questions,
including about his role in
working with Sri Lanka war
criminal Palitha Kohona and
UNCA to oust Inner City Press,
story here,
Kohona here),
an announced ceasefire has
itself been declared over.
After
refusing to confirm reports of
troops moving to CAR, Dujarric
belatedly confirmed. And what
will happen where they took
them from, South Sudan where
UNMISS spread COVID with a bus
for national staff without any
social distancing, flying
infected international staff
in and out like Guterres,
violating the rules?
And from
Guterres, violating quarantine
in Lisbon, nothing. And on
December 24 he and Dujarric
and Melissa Fleming refuses to
answer this from Inner City
Press: "What has the UN done
and what is it doing to try to
prevent violence and fraud in
the elections in Central
Africa Republic (and what has
SG Guterres done about UN sex
exploitation and abuse there,
see below) and in Niger?" No
answer, days later.
The UN's actual
lawless impact on CAR has yet
to be addressed, as we wish
people there the best despite
the UN's colonial hypocrisy
and failure. Watch this
site.
France left CAR
without roads and with an
extremely low literacy rate,
while selling "Emperor"
Bokassa millions of dollars of
fur capes and Faberge eggs.
Nothing on UN peacekeepers'
rapes in CAR, including of
children, just like on June 19
not a word about the cholera
the UN brought, killing 10,000
Haitians. We'll have
more on this. Here
was Inner City Press' video
when it covered the Security
Council's mid 2017 trip to
Haiti, before it was roughed
up by corrupt Guterres' UN
Security and banned now 741
days.
On June 1
they took questions only from
pre-screened in-house
correspondents, ignoring or
even pretending not to see a
question about Cameroon by
Inner City Press. Twitter here,
Periscope here.
Neither
said a word about the
slaughter in Cameroon; they
did not answer Inner City
Press on-line question about
new cases of UN sex abuse,
including a child rape in
South Sudan by UNMISS data
dumped by the UN on June 1.
The
Program belatedly went up -
with countries on which the
two ambassadors ignored and
censored questions: DRC, Mali,
South Sudan. We'll have more
on this.
Back on
February 3, before Coronavirus
hit New York (but after the
first cases covered up in
Wuhan in December 2019)
Belgian Ambassador Marc
Pecsteen de Buytswerve held an
in person but also
friends-only press conference
about his upcoming month as
Security Council president,
with few questions on Africa.
Program of Work tweeted by
Inner City Press here.
Belgium,
of course, oversaw the
colonialism and killing in the
Congo. Its mission to the
UN,in 2018 and since, did not
respond to Inner City Press'
formal communications about
Guterres having it roughed up
and banned. Still the Mission
and Ambassador pontificate
about press freedom and even
the safety of journalists.
The next,
such as it was, is that Jared
Kushner will brief the
Security Council behind closed
doors on February 6 at noon,
when Guterres' spokes- /
hatchetman Stephane Dujarric
holds his noon briefing will
refusing all questions from
Inner City Press despite an on
camera promise.
