UN GATE, July 30
– In the United Nations from
which SG Antonio Guterres has
banned Inner City Press 758
days for asking about his
complicity in the killing of
civilians in Cameroon and
their mass imprisonment by
China in Xinjiang, on July 30
German Ambassador Christoph
Heusgen held a pathetic
partially in-person press
conference. He pontificated
that there are no African
countries on the Security
Council, while taking no
questions about sub-Saharan
Africa and banning Inner City
Press which asked in writing
about Cameroon and UN sex
abuse in DR Congo.
Inner City
Press live-tweeted it. Here's
some:
Here is the UN
"Press" briefing room from
which UNSG Antonio
Guterres has banned
Inner City Press for 758 days
now no answer on his links
with Ghislaine Maxwell and UN
briber CEFC China Energy.
While
Germany UN refused to
answer Inner City Press'
written questions during its
month as UN Security Council
President about new UN sexual
abuse cases, and about
Cameroon, they took maskless
selfies at the UNSC stake out
-- Jul 14 While @GermanyUN
says Masks are always required
in UNHQ, their new Deputy PR
Gunter Sautter immediately
took his off, on video here
Now PR
Heusger brags Germany UN had
its Defense Minister attend
a UN Peacekeeping
event. But why didn't they
answer about the new UN sex
abuse cases, and Inner City
Press' exclusive on
#UNsexploitation by UNTSO in
Tel Aviv? Video here.
PR Heusgen brags,
"We had a record number of
briefers!" And how many more
civilians killed by Paul Biya
in Cameroon, with no answer
by Germany UN ?
GermanyUN
says the first questions goes
to UNCA (UN Censorship
Alliance) - but the President
Valeria Robecco, who
previously took a paid junket
to China, is now in Italy. So
a state media will fill in -
begins by praising Germany.
Now a guy from Al
Jazeera, who after getting a
private briefing from UN
Spokesperson Stephane
Dujarric worked with him
to have UN Security rough up
and ban Inner City Press which
complained, gets all the
questions that Qatar pays for
[CJR here]
Heusgen: There
are no plans in Germany for
the Chancellor to fly to New
York and come to the General
Assembly. We have to be
careful. Says leaders should
present in a virtual way...
Even more boring that usual.
Now, German on
German - still not a single
question in this UN Security
Council press conference about
DR Congo, or Somalia, much
less Cameroon. Sub-Saharan
Africa is more than half of
the UNSC's agenda, and the UN
raises money off it. But no
Qs, Press banned.
Now Voice of
America cannot get their
camera working. But here's
what the wrote to the UN, to
get Inner City Press thrown
out, using US taxpayers' money
(PDF here
of document obtained under
FOIA) Note: (b)(6) is
Antonio Guterres ' UN
Spokesperson
Stephane Dujarric, unveiled here.
Ambassador
Heusgen of Germany
UN is a hypocrite. He
just pontificated about how
there is no African country on
the UNSC - while he made sure
to take no questions even as
UNSC President about #Cameroon
or DRC or Somalia, and to ban
the Press which asks them.
On July 29 Heusgen and
his mission held an event
about Venezuela, to end their
July presidency of the UN
Security Council.
Inner City Press at first
politely RSVP-ed for the
(online) event; then, getting
no response, it asked more
publicly. Eventually the Zoom
password arrived, and Inner
City Press signed in.
Heusgen told
attendees to "raise their
hand," or indicate in the Chat
they had a question. Inner
City Press did both, even
indicating the topic - prisons
- so there could be no excuse
to continue censorship.
But
censorship continued. Huesgen
called on a person in the chat
who asked after Inner City
Press - and didn't respond
when called on - but refused
to call on Inner City Press,
even after it turned on its
camera and physically /
visually raised its hand.
Those
listed, and complicit in
selective banning of
questions:
H.E. Ambassador
Christoph Heusgen, permanent
representative of Germany
to the UN H.E.
Ambassador José Singer
Weisinger, permanent
representative of the
Dominican Republic to the UN;
Louis Charbonneau, UN
director, Human Rights Watch;
Dr. Kathleen Page, researcher,
Johns Hopkins University
Selene Soto, senior counselor,
Women’s Link Worldwide
This is pure
censorship, and collusion with
Antonio Guterres who had Inner
City Press roughed up and
banned to try to cover up his
financial links to UN briber
CEFC China Energy, and
unexplained links with sex
trafficking including
Ghislaine Maxwell. This, and
the German Mission, are
shameful - or shameless. We'll
have more on this.
Back on
July 1 Heusgen took questions
only from pre-screened
in-house correspondents, one
of whose media has no
story by her since
2017, another with
no stories at all.
ignoring or even pretending
not to see a question about
Cameroon by Inner City Press.
Twitter here,
Periscope here.
In late
June Inner City Press wrote
twice to the German Mission to
the UN, about UN censorship
and then about UN
sexploitation. The German
Mission has yet to answer.
On July 1
Heusgen did not say a word
about the slaughter in
Cameroon, nor about the Tel
Aviv UN sexploitation exposed
by Inner City Press.
The
Program belatedly went up -
with countries on which
Heusgen ignored and censored
questions: West Africa, for
example. There will be COVID
(which the UN helped spread in
South Sudan) on July 2, "human
rights" and UN Peacekeeping -
UNTSO? - on July 7. Libya on
July 8, West Africa including
Nigeria / Cameroon on July 9.
Colombia and Syria on July 14;
Yemen (another UN failure) on
July 16. Conflict related
sexual violence, covered up by
Guterres and Stephane
Dujarric, on July 17. Cyprus
on the 20th, Middle East on
the 21st, climate on the 24.
Then what? They never sent the
Program. We'll have more on
this.
When Guterres'
spokes- / hatchetman Stephane
Dujarric holds his noon
briefings this month while
refusing all questions from
Inner City Press despite an on
camera promise.
And Germany? We'll report.
