UN GATE, July 6 – The United
Nations in the time of Antonio
Guterres has devolved not only
into corruption
and censorship,
but also racism, see below. Guterres and his
spokesman Stephane
Dujarric refused to
answer questions from
Inner City Press and UN staff
of color about
preferential
hiring, including
from Japan - but
now on July 6, this
canned
statement, no
answers
" The
Secretary-General
is deeply
saddened by
the reported
death of at
least 40
people
following
flooding and a
large
landslide
today in
Kumamoto,
Kyushu region,
Japan. The
Secretary-General
expresses his
deep
condolences to
the families
of the
victims, as
well as to the
people and
Government of
Japan.
Stephane
Dujarric,
Spokesman for
the
Secretary-General
New York, 6
July 2020." RIP,
yes - but oday's
UN is
pathetic.
Inner City
Press has published
Guterres memo to UN staff to
not join the George Floyd
protests, here, and noted that
his Spokesperson Stephane
Dujarric's "press briefings,"
as controlled by UN Global
Communicator Melissa Fleming,
have no African journalists,
no questions about South Sudan
or DRC or Cameroon, which
killed journalist Samuel
Wazizi. There was Fleming's
precessor stealing
member states' money meant for
Swahili broadcasting, and
recent colonial
"LOOTING IN MIDTOWN: MY
ACCOUNT."
On
June 8, when Guterres was
asked the question of his own
staff and ex-staff's view of
him as a colonial racist, he
rebuffed the questions and did
not answer, on way from
mansion to Mercedes. Video here.
Now more
UN staff have complained to
Inner City Press about hiring
discrimination in Guterres'
UN, including in the Security
Council Affairs Division,
giving rise to this question
which Guterres, Farhan Haq and
Eri Kaneko have refused to
answer: "on deadline describe
the recruitment process for
the P4 Political Affairs
Officer in the secretariat
Branch of SCad and
whistleblowers' complaints to
Inner City Press that it is
destined in advance for
Hirofumi
Goto Also
relatedly provide UN response
to "Japan pushes for more top
UN positions" No answer.
After Inner City
Press on June 13 published
yet another actual UN staff
letter to the editor trashing
Guterres' UN as racist, past
midnight on June 15 the UN
sent out for "recirculation" a
depressing and archaic letter
praising the Dear Leader:
"United Nations
Secretary-General António
Guterres stated that “we need
to raise our voices against
all expressions of racism and
instances of racist
behaviour”.... We welcome the
initiatives by the
Secretary-General to
strengthen the global
anti-racism discourse, which
would address systemic racism
at all levels, as well as its
impact wherever it exists,
including in the United
Nations Organization itself...
(*) All signatories listed
below are senior UN officials
who hold the rank of Under
Secretary- General. They
signed this Op Ed in their
personal capacity: Tedros
ADHANOM GHEBREYESUS Mahamat
Saleh ANNADIF Zainab BANGURA
Winnie BYANYIMA Mohamed Ibn
CHAMBAS Adama DIENG François
Lounceny FALL Bience GAWANAS
Gilbert HOUNGBO Bishar A.
HUSSEIN Natalia
KANEM Mukhisa KITUYI
Jeremiah Nyamane MAMABOLO
Phumzile MLAMBO-NGCUKA Mankeur
NDIAYE Parfait ONANGA-ANYANGA
Moussa D. OUMAROU Pramila
PATTEN Vera SONGWE Hanna
TETTEH Ibrahim THIAW Leila
ZERROUGUI." This was
sent out by a nice UN staffer
who made money from the bribes
of Ng Lap Seng's South South
News. Depressing. Guterres
(and some of the above, for
example Francois Fall who
justifies the killing of
Anglophones in Cameroon as
"extremists") must go.
And another
question: Where is even
Guterres' Deputy Amina J.
Mohammed on this list? Inner
City Press on the morning of
June 15 asked Guterres, Haq,
Kaneko AND MOHAMMED:
"Immediately state why Amina
J. Mohammed is not a signatory
to "On the Black Lives Matter
Protests and other Mass
Demonstrations against
Systemic Racism and Police
Brutality - Joint reflexions
by United Nations Senior
African Officials" and
describe any and all
Secretariat (and separately,
SG Guterres and USG Fleming)
involvement in soliciting,
drafting and circulating the
letter / op-ed." No answers.
More to follow.
