UN
GATE, Dec 27 --
While UN Secretary
General Antonio
Guterres cries poor
and scales back
"official travel,"
he has just made
another undisclosed
trip to Lisbon paid
for the public,
using as a fig leaf
a December 17-20
junket in Italy
where he called
Libya a cancer. On
December 21 his
schedule said "on
annual leave," until
at least January 2.
Now while he gushes
public money, the UN
Budget Committee on
December 27 amid
anti human rights
speeches and with at
least 39 member
states not even
bothering to show up
rubber stamped $3
billion, even as
some states said
they just won't pay.
Guterres was nowhere
to be seen, and his
spokesman Stephane
Dujarric once again
refused all of Inner
City Press' written
questions. After an
embarrassing session
in the GA hall, this
canned statement:
"Statement by H.E.
Tijjani Muhammad
Bande, President of
the 74th Session of
the United Nations
General
Assembly.
Excellencies,
Fifth Committee
Delegates, I
congratulate all
delegates for the
successful
conclusion of the
Committee’s work,
despite challenges
it faced during this
session. Your
flexibility to
constructively
engage with each
other on complex
issues has paved the
way for getting us
to this
point.
I commend Ambassador
Andreas D.
Mavroyiannis, Chair
of the Fifth
Committee, for his
sagacity, tenacity
and dedication in
steering this
Committee’s work. I
thank members of the
bureau,
facilitators, and
dedicated
Secretariat team for
their tireless
efforts and support
throughout the whole
process.
I know the delay in
convening this
meeting has affected
holiday plans and I
am grateful for the
patience and
sacrifice of all
connected with the
process. Kindly
extend my
appreciation and
best wishes to your
family members.
Surely, we need to
find a way to avoid
getting this late."
No, the UN is
getting worse and
worse.
In
the afternoon there
was Andreas
Mavroyiannis of
Cyprus, the chair of
the Budget
Committee, a
position held in
2018 by Cameroon.
When Inner City
Press questioned
Cameroon's
Ambassador, about
his deal with
Guterres, it was
roughed up and has
been banned since.
The UN is corrupt,
under Guterres.
Guterres
appeared at a
concert in Lisbon on
November 9 for Carlos
do Carmo,
noted in the
Portuguese media here.
So
how much did it cost
the public, taking
UN Security there?
Where did they stay?
Inner City Press
asked on November
11, before the day's
UN noon briefing
which it is banned
from entering to
attend by corrupt
Guterres, for the
now 536th day. No
answers. Nor on
December 19 and 20
to where Guterres
was going next. He
believes the
public's money is
his.
On
November 23 Inner
City Press went to
check out the Sutton
Place mansion in
which Big Tony lives
on the public dime.
There, fully three
vans were in front.
When Inner City
Press started live
streaming, one left
and backed into a
dead end around the
corner. Finally
Guterres slipped out
though his / your
back door, like a
common criminal to
avoid questions or
legal process and
sped away. Video here.
Guterres is corrupt.
And did
Guterres only agree
to go to the Paris
Peace Forum, with
sponsor Gulbenkian
which tried to sell
its oil company to
UN briber CEFC China
Energy and whose
payments to Guterres
have been omitted
from his financial
disclosure covering
2016, as a fig leaf
for his Lisbon trip?
Will he meet
dictator Paul Biya
at the PPF? Watch
this site.
On October 14 Inner
City Press went to
check it out, from
gate. Periscopes I,
II,
III,
IV,
V,
VI,
VII.
