UN GATE, Sept 16
– In the run-up to UN
General Assembly week, US
State Department official
Michele Sison held a press
briefing on September 16.
She took
just three questions, the last
of which was if Secretary
Antony Blinken will meet with
Iran. It was not
answered. But it was
said Blinken will meet with
ministers from the 'Stans, and
with the GCC including about
Iran.
On
September 15 Inner City Press,
banned from the UN, reported
on a torture lawsuit filed
against Iran's Raisi.
It wanted to ask
about that, about the South
Sudan UN Ambassador who
recently raped in NYC then
left the country with
impunity, what the State
Department has done on that
and on ensuring UN access for
independent Press. An
application is pending with UN
MALU.
Earlier,
Ambassador Linda
Thomas-Greenfield did a closed
briefing in UN, answer state
media questions including from
Turkey's Andalou and seeming
to praise China. Again,
nothing done. Watch this site.
