GOVERNORS
ISLAND,
July 14 – The ferry ride from
lower Manhattan to Governor's
Island costs five dollars.
But once
one got there on July 14, the
New York City Poetry Festival
was free. And free style: from
rants about October 7 to
dreamy reflections on youth,
CGBGs and the Lower East Side,
complete with electric violin
[Melida Rodas with Jose
Gonzalez “Le Fiddler”] - there
was something for
everyone.
Inner City Press
looks forward to next year
2025
Strangely,
there was a United Nations
table, complete with verse
from a man who took part in a
reading in the UN in 2010, for
which the UN said "Covering
media must submit request for
UN access on letterhead to UN
Media Accreditation &
Liaison Unit - please call
(212) 963-5934/7164. Pass must
be obtained at 45th & 1st
Avenue, UNITAR building; two
forms of photo ID
required."
But that's
false - the Press which
reports critically on SG
Antonio Guterres is not
allowed into the UN even when
invited by a Mission. Hence,
Belt and Roadkill - and the
soon forthcoming Fox Hunt Quid
Pro Guo - watch this site.
