CENTRE STREET,
Nov 26 – A man
charged with pushing a
68-year-old woman to the
ground "so hard it gave her
whiplash," the prosecutor
said, was presented in 100
Centre Street on November 26.
The
incident, which occurred the
day before, took place in
lower Manhattan's First
Precinct. The prosecutor asked
for cash bail of $20,000, or
$60,000 insurance bond.
Appointed defense
counsel asked for "ROR" -
release on his own
recognizance.
And that's what
he got, with a lack of
criminal record or any reason
to believe he wouldn't return
cited by the judge (who also
presided over a plead-down
from petit larceny to a mere
violation of 10-179(a)(7) of
the NYC Administrative Code,
"no criminal
record."
And so it goes in
100 Centre Street.
