CENTRE ST,
Jan 12 – A man who says he
went into a building on 29th
Street in Manhattan to save
someone, then got jailed for
burglary, came in for a change
of plea on January 12 before
Justice Curtis Farber. Inner
City Press was there.
While Judge
Farber read to the defendant
the charges against him, on
WebCrims for IND-73045-25/001
it said "There are no charges
on record for this
case." Strange, since he
had already served seven
months in jail on them.
He was
asked if he had been convicted
of arson in the past. After a
time, he did not contest
it.
When asked
if he had used force to take a
fanny pack, he said he took it
from a car. Asked again, he
pled directly to the statutory
terms. "Are the People
satisfied?" Justice Farber
asked. They were.
But was the
public?
