CENTRE ST,
Feb 12 – As a man was
presented in an
otherwise-empty 100 Centre
Street on February 12,
Lincoln's birthday, two words
were said amid the cacophony:
"Federal consequences."
The
defendant, Ricardo Ramirez
Alvarez, was charged with
petit larceny and criminal
possession of stolen property,
having apparently confessed to
same in 89 East 42nd Street.
He told the officer, "in
substance," I screwed up, I
made a mistake.
Was the
mistake the stealing? Or
stealing while on shaky
immigration grounds, in these
times?
Then again, will
ICE be told or even contacted?
Inner City Press is on the
case(s).
