CENTRE STREET,
Nov 15 – In the Daniel Penny
trial on November 15, Medical
Examiner Harris testified
after being called as an
expert witness by the
prosecution. Inner City Press
was there,
thread.
Harris was intended to address
the police officer testimony
that Jordan Neely still had a
pulse when they arrived. She
said that the brain dies
first.
She was
also asked about, and
confirmed, K2 and sickle cell
disease, showing an autopsy
photo of speckled liver.
The day began
with the defense reading from
a police report:
Judge: Jurors,
the defense is going to offer
an exhibit about the NYPD
questioning a witness, Mr.
Clay. The defense will enter a
portion of the police report.
Penny's lawyer Steve Raiser:
May I explain to the jury?
Judge: Yes. [redacted NYPD
report]
Penny's lawyer
Raiser: Mr. Clay said, I
wondered, what does this guy
have on him? What does he have
in his pocket? Judge: OK.
Witness entering!
