Centre St,
Feb 9 – A man charged with
attempted robbery - demanding
money and then an ATM visit
from a victim by threatening
he had a knife - was released
without cash bail in NYC
Criminal Court in 100 Centre
Street on February 9. Inner
City Press was there.
The
defense lawyer said his client
Yorman Aponte Ojeda works for
Uber. The Assistant District
Attorney said the defendant
also has outstanding charges
in Queens, seemingly for
domestic violence, and asked
for $25,000 bail.
He then made a
Brady disclosure of
potentially exculpatory
evidence: the victim said no
knife was ever seen.
That was apparently
dispositive for Judge Sheridan
N. Jack-Browne, who after
second-calling the case, later
released him without monetary
conditions.
