SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
March 30 –A man from Guatemala
who has been in the US since
2007 was detained by ICE in
Brewster, New York.
On March 30 he
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the US District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The filing
says that he owns a barber
shop in Brewster, New York.
The petition also calls him by
several different names, and
eevn nationalities.
The case
was assigned to Judge J. Paul
Oetken, who asked for a filing
stating the location of the
petitioner.
The AUSA wrote in that
at the time of filing he was
in Newburgh, New York, and
not, as alleged, in
MDC-Brooklyn.
