SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Nov 4 – With Sean Combs in
jail in MDC-Brooklyn, on
October 20 at least five more
civil cases against him were
filed in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York. Inner
City Press is covering the
cases.
One of them
is by a Jane Doe who states
that while in Las Vegas in
2014 an entertained called
Smoove invited her to a Combs
party where she saw Mary J.
Blige, Lil' Kim and Nicki
Manaj - then was drugged and
sexually assaulted by Combs in
his suite at the Planet
Hollywood hotel. The complaint
has two photos of Combs in an
89 football jersey.
The case was
assigned to Judge Vernon S.
Broderick - who on November 4
ordered "that Plaintiff's
motion to proceed anonymously
is GRANTED pending Defendants'
appearance. No later than
seven (7) days following
Defendants' appearance,
Plaintiff shall file a letter
on the docket indicating
whether she intends to either
renew her motion on the papers
already submitted or file new
motion papers. IT IS FURTHER
ORDERED that Defendants shall
file any opposition to the
motion to proceed anonymously
no later than twenty-one (21)
days after being served with
the complaint. I will then
reconsider Plaintiff's motion.
SO ORDERED. (Signed by Judge
Vernon S. Broderick on
11/4/2024)
This is in
contrast to fellow SDY Judge
Vyskocil's denial of anonymous
status in a similar Jane Doe
lawsuit against Combs.
He did not - yet?
- follow Judge Jesse M. Furman
who ordered, "to ensure that
the Court has no conflicts
that would require recusal,
Plaintiff shall promptly file,
under seal, a declaration
disclosing his identity (and
the identity of any other
party that is not named in the
Complaint) to the Court."
Celebrity A…
Note: This logic
would apply to all of the John
and Jane Does, in the other
cases...
This case
is Jane Doe v. Combs, et al.,
1:24-cv-7944 (Broderick)
