Twentysomething from Honduras Entered in Texas Now Detained in Goshen NY Has Habeas

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 21 – Arriving from Honduras via Mexico and into the US at Hidalgo, Texas on December 2, 2019, a 19-year old was deemed an "unaccompanied alien child" and released to his brother in Rhinebeck, New York.

It was there on July 18, 2025 that he was detained by ICE and transfered to 26 Federal Plaza then after a habeas corpus petition was filed, to the Orange County Jail in Goshen, New York.

After a series of denied motions he was moved to Louisiana for removal to Honduras - then back to the OCJ, where he remains.

A series of briefs have since been filed in the habeas proceeding; a hearing may be held. Inner City Press is following the case(s).

This one is G.S. v. Noem, et al., 1:25-cv-8150 (Vyskocil)
