COURTHOUSE,
Jan 8 – A man from
Ecuador who was ordered
removed from the US in 2007
but remained was detained by
ICE on January 7 near 99th
Street in Corona, Queens.
He filed a habeas
corpus petition in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
where Inner City Press found
it.
The
petition says he is in 26
Federal Plaza, Holding Room,
and has no criminal record. He
had a stroke six years ago and
continue to suffer adverse
health consequences.
His
lawyer based in 195 Centre
Street asks for release and
attorney's fees.
The case
is Gualpa-Mizhquiri v.
Francis, et al., 1:26-cv-156
