COURTHOUSE,
July 23 – For ripping off NYC
homeless shelters for bogus
construction work and
materials, and also defrauding
Medicaid, Shouket Chudhary and
others were indicted in
September 2022.
On July 22,
2024 Chudhary came before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Valerie
Figueredo to plead guilty.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the SDNY Mag
court.
Judge Figueredo said the plea
agreement is for 21 to 27
months. She asked for more
detail on Chudhary's
allocution - did he know where
all the money came from?
The AUSA added
more questions, about the time
frame and venue. A
sentencing control date of
October 21 was set.
The overall case
is US v. Cheema, et al.,
22-cr-615 (Schofield /
Figueredo)
