| Bronx Man For Throwing
Canned Drink at HSI Agent Was
Indicted Now Pleads to Assault

COURTHOUSE,
Jan 16 – A Bronx man charged
with throwing a beverage can
at a Homeland Security
Investigations officer on
August 25 was Federally
indicted on September 5.
The
complaint said that the HSI
Special Agents "approached an
unidentified male and in both
English and Spanish identified
themselves as law
enforcement." The defendant
"turned, took a few steps away
and threw a canned beverage
approximately 5000 milliliters
in volume at the Victim
causing a laceration on the
forehead one inch in
length."
On August
26 he was presented and
detained in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrates Court, which Inner
City Press closely covers.
On January 16 he
pled guilty to the lesser
charge of simple assault, with
sentencing set very quickly
for Jan 21.
