May 14 –A man from Ecuador in
ICE detention in the Orange
County Jail on May 14 filed a
habeas corpus petition in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
where Inner City Press found
it.
The
petition says that his only
prior criminal contact arose
from a dispute with a family
member and resulted in a PL
Section 240.20
non-criminal disposition on
April 27, 2026. It says he has
been in detention since April
6.
The case
was assigned on May 14 to
Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil.
The case is R.C.
v. Genalo, et al.,
1:26-cv-3999 (Vyskocil)
