SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
March 31 – A man on probation
for bank fraud as part of a
gang in The Bronx is detained
for allegedly assaulting the
mother of his child - on
video. He is represented by
white shoe NYC law firm, as
part of the Criminal Justice
Act panel.
On March
31 this law firm's appeal of
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Robyn F.
Tarnofsky's order of detention
was ruled on, in person, by
SDNY District Judge Analisa
Torres. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
courtroom.
The firm
has submitted exhibits under
seal. Judge Torres said she
had seen the video and would
order the defendant to
continue to be detained.
The law firm then
asked for a hearing, if there
would be any witnesses beyond
the video. It was set for
April 14.
