On October 10,
Inner City Press live tweeted
- trial was set for May 5,
2025 and Judge Subramanian
told the parties to draft an
order against leaks. Thread here.
On November 19
another slew of five cases
were filed in SDNY by the Tony
Buzbee Firm, including one by
a man from Georgia saying he
was raped in NY in 2022.

On November 20,
the assigned District Judge
Lorna G. Schofield ruled that
as complaint by pseudonym it
had to be filed as a
miscellaneous case, citing ECF
Rule 6/14(b) - and dismissed
the case. In the prior wave of
cases, Judge Jennifer H.
Rearden did just this. Other
cases are going forward -
before Judge Vyskocil, only
after Candice McClary's named
was added.
These facts were
simply refiled as a civil
case, assigned to Judge John
P. Cronan, and proceeding like
this: "ORDER granting [4]
Motion. In sum, after weighing
the factors outlined in Sealed
Plaintiff, the Court concludes
that Plaintiff may proceed at
this stage under the pseudonym
"John Doe." This Order
permitting Plaintiff to
proceed anonymously shall
remain in effect only until
the later of (1) thirty days
following service of the
Complaint, or (2) the Courts
ruling on any timely renewed
motion to proceed anonymously.
Any renewed motion must be
filed within thirty days after
service of the Complaint. In
the absence of a timely
motion, the Court shall order
the name of the Plaintiff be
disclosed. The Clerk of Court
is respectfully directed to
close the motion at Docket
Number 4 and to issue the
requested summonses. SO
ORDERED. (Signed by Judge John
P. Cronan on 11/22/2024)
