Previous Counsel Paint Family Picture

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 25– Some multi-defendant
cases just go on and on.
Richard Hill was released from
prison on December 9, 2020
but, the US says, nearly
immediately violated the terms
of his supervised
release.
On August 3, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Gregory H. Woods held a VOSR /
sentencing proceeding. Inner
City Press covered it.
The US said
Hill did not report to
Probation, did not participate
in inpatient substance abuse
and did not notify probation
of a change of
residence.
Judge Woods
sentenced Hill to four months
incarceration.
Jump cut to March
25, 2025 when co-defendant
Saxon was bought in by US
Marshals to be arraigned on
alleged VOSRs including
harassment and "theft of
services" - apparently,
turnstile jumping. He had been
assigned a CJA lawyer from a
white shoe firm but Judge
Woods was a partner there, so
previous counsel came back -
and note that the defendant's
mother took the day off,
albeit the wrong day.
Given a
March 27 state proceeding, a
new Federal date of April 16
was picked.
The case is USA
v. Bailey, et al., 1:16-cr-396
