SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Jan 27 – A defendant arrested
with a gun on West 211th
Street on May 5, 2024, and a
previously felon conviction
for felony assault, came to
plead guilty on April 24
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Jessica G.L.
Clarke. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in this
SDNY courtroom.
The
initial complaint contains two
photos, one of the loaded .380
Ruger.
Judge
Clarke asked the defendant if
he understood the rights he
was giving up. He said that he
did.
Judge
Clarke accepted the plea and
set sentencing.
On July 21 the
Federal Defenders wrote in
asking for no prison time, six
months electronic monitoring,
calling the Morrisania Air
Rights projects "Vietnam."
Sentencing was set for July 25
- but then it was adjourned
for six months.
On January 27,
before the rescheduled
February 10 sentencing date,
Fennell's Federal Defender
wrote in asking for five years
probation.
This case
is USA v. Fennell, 1:24-cr-453
(Clarke)
