2023 Detained Today by ICE so

COURTHOUSE,
Jan 27 –A man who left Russia
on August 26, 2023 and entered
the US without inspection at
Tecate, California on November
2, 2023 was detained by ICE in
26 Federal Plaza on January
27.
That same day he
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the US District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The
petition says he was detained
at his regularly scheduled ICE
check in, and is not in the
"processing space" at 26
Federal Plaza.
The case
was assigned to District Judge
Jesse M. Furman, who set a
4:30 pm hearing and asked for
written answers before.
The US Attorney's
Office, as it has in other
recent case, wrote in
acknowledging the case is not
different then others decided
by the Judge.
Judge Furman
agreed, ordered the petitioner
released by 6 pm and canceled
the conference.
The case
is / was Zharkoi v. Noem, et
al., 1:26-cv-684 (Furman)
