COURTHOUSE,
Nov 26 – A man from
Peru who has lived in the US
for three years has been
detained by ICE in the Orange
County Jail since November
19.
On
November 26 he filed a habeas
corpus petition in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
where Inner City Press found
it. The petition
recounts that "tragically in
and prior to April 2024 his
then-10-year old daughter was
sexually assaulted by her
grandfather, Mr. Lopez'
father."
He is
asking for release. The case
was assigned to Judge Valerie
E. Caproni, who ordered that
the respondent file a letter
by Friday, November 28.
The
case is Quispe-Sulcaray v.
Noem, et al., 1:25-cv-9908
(Caproni)
