SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Nov 19 – Robert Nunez
was indicted with three others
in a conspiracy to import 100
kilos of cocaine in
2021.
On December
4, 2023, with the other three
defendants already sentenced
(one to ten years, the other
two to time served), Nunez was
brought before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Jennifer E.
Lewis. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
Mag court.
The
AUSA sought detention for
Nunez on risk of flight
grounds. His appointed CJA
lawyer said she consented to
detention, and made sure to
give him her business card.
On August 6, 2024
he pled guilty. Sentencing is
set for November 21.
The US asked for
60 or 63 months, consecutive
to any state sentence.
The case
is US v. Nunez, 21-cr-246
