OK - now in SDNY Magistrates Court for US vs two defendants with the same last name, Ali and Mahamadou.  They are charged with bank fraud, to multiple financial institutions, stolen checks.

Judge: Has each counsel reviewed the indictment? Yes, yes. Not guilty, not guilty.

Assistant US Attorney: We have agreed on a proposed bail package: $100,00 personal recognizance bond, can't possess any mail matter not in their name or those they reside with

Judge: What do you mean, "mail matter"?

AUSA: Including checks. Judge: Tell me how you want to phrase it. [AUSA confers with defense]  AUSA: No identifying information of others except those they reside with. Surrender all travel documents by Friday

Judge: No contact with victims or witnesses in the case.

On March 13 the US Attorney's Office wrote in that "the Goverment and counsel for defendants Ali Sawaneh and Mahamadou Sawaneh have reached a resolution in principle of this case... anticipated change of plea hearing."
