Man Charged with Dealing Meth Was Ordered Detained Over Holiday Now Indicted

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 7 – A man charged with dealing meth was brought on December 23 into the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court for presentment. Inner City Press was there.

There was a DEA agent standing beside the prosecutor. He was appointed a Federal Defender, who asked that he be released on bail.

Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave said she couldn't move that fast, that Pre-Trial Services will visit his mother's home on December 29 or 30 to see if it would be appropriate for home detention. She set a hearing for January 2.  So he was detained at least through Christmas and New Year.

On January 2 he was ordered detained.

On January 7 he was indicted and the case assigned to District Judge Ronnie Abrams.

The case is USA v. Robinson, 1:26-cr-2 (Abrams)
