Dec 30 – A man from
Mauritania who has lived in
the US since 2023 was detained
by ICE in 26 Federal Plaza on
December 30. Later that day he
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The case was
assigned to Judge Edgardo
Ramos, who directed the
Respondents to answer in three
business days.
The
petition was accompanied by a
motion for a Temporary
Restraining Order returnable
on New Years Eve at 5
pm.
The case is
Gomiss v. Francis, et al.,
1:25-cv-10765 (Ramos)
