Exclusive,
Nov 6 – A man indicted for
threatening to murder a Senior
District Judge of the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
was presented on November 6 in
the SDNY Magistrates Court
which Inner City Press closely
covers.
Anthony
Salvatore Perri was detained
without prejudice to making a
future application for bail.
His case was assigned to
another Senior District Judge,
in the District of
Connecticut, to avoid any
appearance of quasi conflict
of interest.
His next
appearance will be by
telephone and Inner City Press
will again cover it.
Inner City
Press knew the name of the
target but voluntarily did not
publish it. Now research
reveals Perri filed a case in
2011 citing then-Governor
Spitzer. Judge Loretta A.
Preska in 2012 dismissed it
and certified, under 28 USC
1915(a)(3) that "any appeal
taken would not be in good
faith and therefore in forma
pauperis status is denied for
purpose of an appeal."
11-cv-8544 (LAP).
