Man Charged With Crack and Guns Had 1st of 2  SDNY Trials Then Pled Now Sentence Delay

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 11 – Jonathan Torres is on trial, the first of two this month. On April 10 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John G. Koeltl, jurors were shown text messages with objections sustained to explaining what "WYA" means.  Inner City Press was there, the only media in the courtroom.

The prosecution's expert witness Alfred Hernandez testified how crack is sold.

The complaint describes a vial full of crack found incident to arrest, in the 40th Precinct in The Bronx.

On April 12, Torres pled guilty. On June 11, sentencing was pushed back to September 26.

The case is  US v. Torres, 23-cr-395 (Koeltl)
