SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Aug 3 – A man from Mexico in
ICE detention in 26 Federal
Plaza filed a habeas corpus
petition in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York, where
Inner City Press found
it.
The
petition says he has been in
the US since 2001 without
incident and that while he
worked at a Mexican food truck
on Staten Island on August 1,
he was detained by ICE.
On August
2 a habeas corpus petition was
filed on his behalf in SDNY,
and assigned to Judge Jennifer
H. Rearden. She ordered that
he not be removed from SDNY,
EDNY or New Jersey absent
further order of the Court.
The case is
Solano v. Blanche, et al.,
1:26-cv-6590 (Rearden)
