SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Feb 10 – On June 11 DOJ
announced the unsealing of a
Complaint charging KEITH
TAYLOR with defrauding a
charity he ran by embezzling
approximately $2.5 million in
donations meant for low-income
families and spending them
instead on personal expenses
including rent in a luxury
apartment building in midtown
Manhattan, food delivery
services, cosmetic surgery,
and lavish meals at some of
New York City’s most expensive
restaurants.
On
September 6, Taylor was being
arraigned before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Jennifer L. Rochon. Inner City
Press was there, the only
media in the courtroom.
On April 18 in a
motions in limine filing
Taylor's lawyers said he did
not use Modest Means' money
for cosmetic surgery but
rather to remove 45 pounds of
excess skin after weight loss.
On July 30 the US
Attorney's Office wrote in
asking to take a Rule 15
deposition of their Witness-1
citing her redacted health
condition.
On August 18
Taylor was in court to plea
guilty, and Inner City Press
was there. Thread. The
guideline agreed to was 87 to
108 months with sentencing set
for October 15 at 11:30 am as
victims may testify.
But sentencing
did not happen then. On
February 10 it was pushed to
April 8, 2026 - and the
defendant remanded, new lawyer
assigned. We hope to have more
on this.
