SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Jan 22 – A man from Honduras
who has been in the US since
1992 was detained by ICE on
November 6,
2025. He has
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it.
The
petition says he "filed a
motion for Redetermination of
Custody" with the Varick
Street Immigration Court. But
the Immigration Judge denied
the motion.
The
petition was assigned to Judge
Arun Subramanian, who has
ordered the petitioner not to
be removed from SDNY without
his permission, and for the
Government to respond by
January 23.
The
case is Jiminez Garcia v.
Joyce, et al., 1:26-cv-429
(Subramanian)
